Dawnridge Ranch

Welcome to Dawnridge Ranch, a small dairy goat farm on just under 2.5 acres just south of San Jose, California. This region was once part of the historic Valley of Heart’s Delight, a landscape of orchards and rich agricultural production that has since transformed into what the world now knows as Silicon Valley.

For many years, our goal was simply to have a permanent home for our horses. Boarding barns changed hands, prices increased, and long-term stability was never guaranteed, making it difficult to plan for their future. In 2016, that uncertainty ended when we were finally able to purchase our own property and bring them home.

Having control over our own land allowed us to grow beyond horse ownership and we begin developing a small, working farm with a clear focus on food security and self-reliance. Over time, the ranch has expanded to include a garden, chickens and dairy goats, each addition chosen with purpose: to produce wholesome food, reduce our dependence on outside systems, and create a more resilient, sustainable way of living.

We believe there is deep value in knowing where your food comes from and in caring for the animals that help provide it. Our daily work centers on practical, sustainable practices, thoughtful land stewardship, and respect for every animal in our care. Even on a modest acreage, small and consistent steps can create meaningful impact.

Today, Dawnridge Ranch is building a thoughtful dairy goat breeding program focused on producing sound, productive animals for home milkers, the show ring, and consistent milk production. We place strong emphasis on structure, temperament, and genetics to guide our breeding decisions and continually improve the herd.

Our goats are more than livestock—they are working animals, each with a defined role and purpose. Each one is managed as an individual, with attention to their health and daily handling so they can succeed in both production and partnership. This intentional approach allows us to raise animals that are not only functional and productive, but also well-mannered, resilient, and a good fit for the farms and families they join.

At its heart, Dawnridge Ranch is about connection: between people, animals, and the land.
