Dawnridge Ranch Eleanor Rigby – Ellie
50% Alpine-Type Recorded Grade (GA2300378)

Ellie is a true sweetheart and an exceptional mama. Even less than a month before kidding in 2026, she could still be found snuggling every night with her previous year’s kid, Gary—a perfect reflection of her gentle, nurturing nature.
She has matured into a tall, long-bodied doe, clearly taking after both her dam and sire. Completely black, with just a few white hairs on her forehead, Ellie quickly earned the nickname “the Limousine” as a kid because of her length and elegance.
Ellie pairs a gentle temperament with dependable milk production. Eight months after kidding, she was still producing over a half gallon per day on once-a-day evening milking—more than enough for our family, with extra for cheese and yogurt. She represents everything we value in a dairy doe: strong structure, consistent output, and an exceptional disposition. Her Alpha-Casein B/E genetics also contribute to higher butterfat and excellent cheese yield.
Ellie’s Kids:
- 2024 (bred to Dicky) – Larry (wethered and sold)
- 2025 (bred to Dicky) – Gary (wethered and still in our herd) and Ruby (deceased)
- 2026 (bred to Dicky) – Jerry (will be wethered and is available for sale) and Annie (retained)
B/B – This doe has been DNA tested by the UC Davis Veterinary Genetics Laboratory for Alpha‑S1 Casein. The results help us understand how her genetics may influence the protein and fat levels in milk produced by herself and her daughters. Higher Alpha‑S1 Casein is associated with creamier milk and better cheese-making, while lower levels may be easier for some people to digest.
